The Raider Voice held a press conference for the band “The Wanted” on Thursday, January 19th at the Prep campus. The British pop sensation currently has two #1 singles and three songs in the Top 5 in the UK. Selling over 400,000 copies of their debut album and globally amassing over 30 million YouTube views, they are the #1 band in the UK right now. They debuted on American television with their appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show on Jan. 11th.

The press conference included a panel of student journalists from The Raider Voice newspaper and The Raider yearbook. Broadcasting students from RaiderVision helped to set up sound and filmed the conference. The band answered panelist’s questions as well as questions from the audience. After a couple of acoustic performances, the group signed autographs for fans.

The band is currently touring the U.S., visiting local radio stations to promote their debut album. Gulliver was the first stop on their visit to South Florida. Afterwards they appeared at Y-100 radio station, and then left for an engagement in Washington, D.C.
