A team of engineering students traveled to Indianapolis Oct. 28 and Nov. 2 to showcase a new project that will create a device gathering essential vitamins from tree leaves. Students including Sara Fuenmayor, Louis Hamilton, Schuyler Reinken, and Jeronimo Guijarro presented their ideas for this design to Project Lead the Way in front of around 1,200 people.
“The presentation went extremely well and we received positive feedback,” said senior Jeronimo Guilarro.
Head of Schools Frank Steel and Director of Studies Ruben Valencia also travelled with the group, along with Prep Engineering and Biomedical Science Department Chair Claude Charron, and other engineering teachers.
The purpose of the forum was to inspire others in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. People in attendance at the PLTW summit included Steve Forbes, Bill Bennett, and Jeff Charbonneau.
