The large crowd of students murmured throughout the room, wondering why they are out of class, throwing occasional glances to the empty seat on the stage. Everyone had seen the posters around, but no one was prepared for the talent that was going to take the stage.
Tiffany Houghton’s voice can stop an entire room in its track. As she entered the spotlight, the students still did not know what to think. With the first few gentle strums of her acoustic guitar, the crowd warmed up to her. Her visit comprised of multiple acoustic songs and multiple interesting questions from a panel.
Her acoustic performance was good enough to earn approval from a tough crowd of adolescents as she played four of her top songs. Houghton began with “High,” a song with more than a million views on Youtube. In addition to this, she also played “Love Like That,” played in the top 20 on Hits1, along with a new single “Glitter.”
In addition to her acoustic performances, interviews throughout the assembly showed Houghton’s warm personality.
“The best way to get through life is to laugh at yourself,” she said with a bright smile.
When the performance was over, students lined up to get signatures, take selfies, and just say hello. Houghton was welcoming with everyone, leaving students with a smile on their faces and her songs playing in their heads.
