During Club Rush, students saw many familiar clubs, including RaiderPals, Robotics, and Achieve Miami, among others. However, one new club stood out for its focus on helping students understand investing and navigate the ever-changing world of Wall Street.
“I started the Market Leaders because I wanted students to see that finance isn’t just numbers,” Founder senior Ryan Beery said.” “It’s about understanding how people, data, and decisions shape the world. Once you start thinking that way, markets stop feeling abstract and start feeling human.”
At its first meeting, the club introduced the basics of trading, including what stocks are and how they function. Future meetings will cover topics ranging from economic theories, such as the Nash Equilibrium—which helps investors predict competitors’ moves and identify the most stable strategy—to portfolio diversification.

“Through our teachings, we hope to build students’ confidence in finance,” senior Mateo Krauze said. “We break down how markets actually work so anyone, no matter their background or experience in the field, can make smarter choices about money, business, and opportunity.”
All staff members bring prior experience, whether through the school’s business program, classes at the University of Miami, or internships offering real-world exposure to the financial industry.
“Our team brings real exposure from the world of investing,” senior Ali Jivani said. “From research on market trends and quantitative analysis to experience inside the industry that keeps the global market running, we use that experience to make finance more accessible for everyone at school.”
Throughout the year, students will not only learn about investing but also gain hands-on experience, guided by club leaders on when and how to buy or sell stocks.
“I believe that the best way to learn is by taking the concepts you were taught and actually doing it in real life,” Beery said.
