As dessert trends continue to skew towards nutritious options, many students are looking to balance a sweeter ice cream option with a more natural and balanced option: Greek frozen yogurt. Greek frozen yogurt has become a standout choice in Miami, offering a creamy texture with a signature tang that sets it apart from traditional ice cream. Often less sugary, it’s a dessert that feels indulgent without being overwhelming.
With plenty of options across the city, here are five top Greek frozen yogurt spots in Miami that are worth checking out.
1. Go Greek
Downtown: 851 NE 1st Ave suite 118, Miami, FL 33132
Coconut Grove: 3000 Florida Ave ste 114, Miami, FL 33133
Located in Coconut Grove and Downtown Miami, Go Greek specializes in authentic Greek frozen yogurt made using traditional methods. The yogurt has a thick, creamy consistency, and it is less sweet and more refreshing than typical soft-serve ice cream. They offer their typical weekly flavors—honey, tart, chocolate, vanilla—plus two that are on a bi-weekly rotation. Customers can serve themselves and customize their cups with fresh fruits, granola, nuts, chocolates, and other toppings, along with my personal favorites: special honey drizzle and pistachio cream spread. With two convenient locations and their Greek-inspired modern atmosphere, it’s a popular spot for treats and casual get-togethers. Go visit any day of the week from 11 a.m.-12 am.
2. Meli Frozen Yogurt
210 NE 98th St, Miami, FL 33138
Located in Miami Shores, Meli focuses on simple and high-quality ingredients. Meli, meaning honey in Greek, was named for its signature topping: a drizzle of Greek honey over their creamy frozen yogurt. Their yogurt, crafted in-house, is tart and sugar-free, instead sweetened with allulose, which has less of an impact on blood sugar than traditional sugar.
Tart is their staple flavor, and they also offer a rotating flavor, such as seasonal berry, along with fresh fruit, granola, pistachios, chocolate crunch, and others to top it off. The yogurt’s natural tartness balances the sweetness, creating a lighter alternative to ice cream. The spot’s cozy interior and small size make it a favorite for families and students. You can check it out Monday through Saturday from 1-9 p.m., and Sunday from 1-8 p.m.
3. Tata’s Yogurt Bar
2992 McFarlane Rd, Miami, FL 33133
Located in Coconut Grove and recently opened, Tatas offers hand-crafted Greek frozen yogurt made in-house. The base is free of refined sugars, instead using raw honey as a natural sweetener, imparting a pleasant, tart taste and a thick texture. Though they currently only offer one flavor, there are still many ways to imbue the yogurt with color and flavor. Their toppings include fresh fruit, chocolate drizzle, honey, pistachios, and nut spreads. Tata’s welcoming environment and eye-catching creations make it stand out, as does its location near popular restaurants. Thus, it catches many people’s eyes and is a great spot to stop at after dinner. They are closed on Monday, but you can check them out Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
4. Myka Greek Frozen Yogurt
551 Lincoln Rd #5, Miami Beach, FL 33139
Myka, which was founded in Madrid, has expanded to Miami Beach because of its popularity in Latin America and Europe. Myka’s premium Greek yogurt is imported from Greece with milk and kefir, which gives it a creamy and tangy flavor with probiotic benefits, making it light and delicious. They offer many gourmet toppings, including fresh fruit, honey, and chocolate crunch, to name a few. Its blue and Mediterranean-inspired interior makes it resplendent, and as it is in a busy shopping district, many people stop by to grab a treat any day of the week, from 11 a.m.-12 a.m.
5. Pharos Greek Frozen Yogurt
CU9 – Inside Sandwich Qbano, 110 Washington Ave CU9, Miami Beach, FL 33139
Located in Miami Beach inside Sandwich Qbano, Pharos brought a delicious iteration of Greek frozen yogurt that tastes akin to Myka with its fresh fruit, hazelnut, pistachios, and honey toppings to South Beach. Although a small and hidden gem, the bold and traditional preparation of their Greek froyo, along with its blue and Mediterranean-inspired interior, makes it feel special. Each serving has 17g of protein. They’re open every day of the week, from 11:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
