SAGE Dining Services plans to expand its menu offerings at the Raider Café starting Wednesday, Oct. 2.
The Raider Café, located in the Academic Building at the Upper School Campus, serves as a popular coffee and snack bar among students grades 9-12. Since it’s launch on the first day of school, students have wondered if more menu items would be added.
“We’re waiting for our media player to be installed and then releasing a new menu with a wider range of options for students and faculty,” Assistant Food Director Diana Aragon said.
The installation of the media player at the Raider Café will serve as a visual representation for menu items, expediting the decision-making process for both students and faculty at the café counter.
According to Aragon, the new menu will include items such as a charcuterie board, chicken tenders, chicken wraps, avocado toast, hummus vegetable packs, a sausage breakfast sandwich, and Greek salads. These items will all be available to purchase and are not part of the lunchtime “grab and go” items offered to students.
The new menu items are stirring excitement among freshmen wanting to explore the various amenities offered at the Upper School Campus.
“Eating the same snacks [from the Raider Café] for the past two months is getting repetitive—I can’t wait for the new snacks coming out this week,” freshman Marco Caeser-Iglesias said.
Seniors wanting a quick snack during the college application season are also eagerly anticipating the additional snacks and beverages the new Raider Café menu will offer.
“I go [to the Raider Café] every morning since I have early bird class and don’t typically eat breakfast at home,’’ senior Gaelle Timmer said. “My go-to order is an Iced Vanilla Latte and two tequeños. I’m looking forward to the addition of avocado toast in the menu as it’s a healthier option for us students.”
