The girls basketball team took another blowout win against Dade Christian last night in the Blue Dungeon. The team has now improved their record to 3-0 in the season. The final score was 90-53. With the new win, the girls continued their winning streak after returning from a week-long Thanksgiving Break.

“It was a great team win, especially after being on break, and we are only going up from here,” said Senior Bri Santoro. The Raiders had many ups and downs before the season, but did not let that stop them.

The team continues to be successful on the basketball court. Despite the low amount of fans during the Dade Christian game, parents were cheering on the Raiders every step of the way. Top performances include junior Madi Aguilera and senior Riana Doctor. Aguilera score a total of 25 points, with 11 assists, and Doctor also totaled 25 points, including seven rebounds. Senior Krysten Sanders also had a big game, with 12 points and two steals.

Sanders was very proud of the team’s performance. “I was so happy, every one of our shots was on point, and the teamwork is improving day by day,” she commented.

The Lady Raiders continue their season today, Dec. 1, at home in the Blue Dungeon against the Doral Academy Firebirds.

“Doral is a very talented team, but the goal is to end the week 5-0 and take on each game one at a time,” said Head Coach April Traylor.
