Several Track and Field athletes qualified for states at the Regional Finals last Saturday, at Calvary Christian in Fort Lauderdale.

State qualifiers include Jackie Taylor, Paulina Guerra, Courtney Green,Nina Starvaggi, Kyra Gardner, Oli Pena, Alessandra Di Mise, and the boys relay team of Matthew White, Gabriel Bendix, Daniel Harris and Jalen Brown.

“Improvement throughout each individual athlete has been shown, and we couldn’t be more proud,” Head Coach Raviel Maisonet said.

Junior Nina Starvaggi achieved an outstanding time of 2:21 in the 800-meter-yard dash.

“I am very happy with how I ran, and I look to continue with a strong performance at states,” Starvaggi said.

For the boys’ team, Harris and Brown have been making it happen both on the football field and the track. Brown already holds a variety of school records, including the record for the fastest 200-meter-yard dash.

“I hope to continue to be great and win States for every event I am participating in,” Brown said.

The boys 4 x 4 relay shattered the school record with an impressive time of 3:22. The team looks to continue their impressive run at states.

“If we continue to push at practice and run hard, it looks like we can be state champions,” junior Matthew White said.
