“Being a Raider is like showing up fully to everything, like your classes or sports on the field with your teammates, and also it means working hard even when no one is watching, also just pushing yourself and having pride from where you come from. It challenges me academically and athletically, and I admire the school because I can do three high-level sports and also be pushed in the classroom at the same time. Gulliver gave me a place where I can grow and balance multiple sports, as in soccer, track, and volleyball.

Winning a really important game with my volleyball team. And just being with my teammates and everyone cheering—the energy just feels so, so different, and a bunch of people came and cheered. The importance of persevering and teamwork, balancing three sports and school, taught me how to stay organized, and I’ve learned how to manage all of it. It has made me be really confident in myself and trust the work I do.

I’m the girl who’s always carrying cleats, spikes, and knee pads around school, and I think that goes with saying that each sport has shaped a different part of who I am. Track has taught me how to push myself individually, soccer has taught me to trust others, and volleyball has taught me how to find my voice and a family in a sport. Gulliver has given me the space to do it all and to chase my goals in every season, even when it’s hard. I’ve learned discipline, no matter if I’m on the field or court or in the classroom. It’s a very big part of who I am.”
