“To be a Raider is to be part of a big family. Gulliver is truly a special place. From my very first day, I was welcomed with open arms. Building connections here came naturally because everyone is always willing to lend a hand, check in, and offer genuine support. Every member of the community—custodians, security guards, cafeteria staff, teachers, and administrators—makes you feel valued and included.

Coming to Gulliver was not an easy decision. I had spent my entire teaching career in the same public school, and leaving behind years of experience, colleagues who had become like family, and my passion for coaching sports felt daunting. Recently, I reflected on the coincidence that I was once a Knight and now a Raider, and I realized that same fighting and warrior mindset may have helped me embrace this change.

Since making the move, I have never looked back, and every day I feel grateful to be part of such a welcoming and inspiring community.

Some of the most cherished moments in my time at Gulliver have been the deep, meaningful relationships I’ve built with my students. I love how we can talk about anything—life, dreams, challenges—and how they reach out to ask about my day, while openly sharing their own. Former students often stop me in the hallways just to reconnect, and those brief conversations always fill me with joy.

Teaching is a learning journey for both students and teachers, and I strive to remain open to learning from everyone around me—my students, my colleagues, and even the challenges each day brings. Being part of a community that encourages growth and supports one another has shown me that when we approach life and work with an open heart, both teaching and learning become profoundly meaningful experiences.”
