With Phase III of the ongoing $170 million “Transformation. Together. 2026.” construction and development plan in progress, change is quickly taking hold on campus – a change we here at The Raider Voice are so excited to embrace.
The building serves as a fresh start and a new beginning for students, faculty, and the greater community. It both highlights and empowers the Signature Programs such as our very own Digital Mass Media Program, giving them an opportunity to shine in new and spacious modern classrooms.
We’ve only been in the new building for a few weeks and it’s already evident that it will be a pioneer to progress on campus, sparking growth within the Signature Programs and in the overall campus environment. With many spaces to relax and to be with friends, we have no doubt that the building will be popular among the community.
The new building should prompt us to be together more: the social steps and group pods and upcoming cafe encourage us to put our devices down and focus on collaboration . In an age where students can easily disconnect from one another through technology, this building can help serve as a space where collaboration and connection are valued.
The motto of this transformation speaks to the culture of our school: we will stick together through these transitions and continue to grow, collaborate, and support one another, especially here at The Raider Voice where we are excited to explore the new recording studio, podcast room, and the press box.
While we are going to miss the orange walls and coziness of the old newspaper room we have known for so many years, we’re so excited to see how the campus further develops in the final two phases of the plan and can’t wait to move into our new home.
