The girls and boys swim teams were crowned district champions after a dominating performance on the girls side.

Districts took place last Friday Oct. 28 at the Upper School, the girls won with a total of 615 points, and the boys with 475 points. Both teams will now travel to Staurt to compete at Regionals and continue their postseason.

“I think the whole team is doing pretty good, I think both the girls and the guys have a good shot at the state series,” said sophomore Juanfrancisco Gudino. “We had a great season and now that we are in the postseason we just finished our district meet and I think the team worked really hard to get first place,” Gudino said.

The girls will keep on fighting to defend their state championship, they are more motivated more than ever to win it again this year.

“We know that the other teams are looking to take away the state title from us, but our team has definitely matured and we will not let this title slide from our hands,” said senior and team captain Camila Saporta.

The teams had a tough schedule since they were able to compete in many meets, but that didn’t stop them from giving their all at practice and eventually causing them to drop their times.

“It has been a tough season, but we have been having some really good practices to prepare us for our future meets,” said coach Chris George. “We are making sure that everyone is getting their proper workouts in to be in the best shape possible at Regionals and States,” said George.
