Those interested in joining the girls basketball can give it a shot by attending any of their practices over the next few weeks.
“Any girls interested are welcome to practice with us until October, and then can try out for the team then.” Assistant Coach Shannon Kunkel said.
Practices take place at Wayside Gym on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 4p.m.-6p.m. Wayside is located at 7701 SW 98th Ct, Miami, FL 33156. Game days are held on Saturdays at different locations which can be found by emailing Kunkel. Students looking to join the team can expect a great environment.
“If I were to describe the team in three words, I would definitely say family–we are all super close and I love that we are best friends off the court as well–dedication, and passion. We all love the sport we play and want to be best for not just ourselves but for each other” senior team member Daniella Calero said.
