On Jan. 4, popular YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI came together to launch their own sports hydration drink, Prime.

Before creating the company, Paul and KSI had a long history, even boxing two times in front of thousands of people. Their first fight was an amateur fight that happened back in Aug. 2018. The fight ended up in a draw, which caused the pair to fight again, but this time they were fighting professionally. The second fight happened in Nov. 2019, which resulted in KSI’s victory.

“I think YouTube boxing had its moment with Logan and KSI and everyone was really hype about it since the two had been talking trash about each other for years,” said senior Ethan Melendi. “But anyway it was a lot of fun, but now I think that is the past since they’re now business partners and friends.”

Currently Prime has five different fruit flavors: Blue Raspberry, Grape, Orange, Fruit Punch and Lemon Lime.

“Personally, my favorite flavor is Blue Raspberry,” said sophomore Mauricio Medal. “It has a really sweet flavor and taste and it does actually taste like blue raspberry. It is also very refreshing to drink during and after my workouts.”

What makes Prime different from Gatorade, their main business competitor, and all the other sports drink companies is the ingredients. Prime has a very unique variety of ingredients. The drink has 10% of coconut water, 250 mg of BCAAs, B vitamins, Antioxidants, 825 mg of Electrolytes, 2g of sugar, 0g of protein, 0g of total fats, 10 mg of sodium, 0 mg of cholesterol, 6 g of carbohydrates and it has 25 calories. 

“I think it’s amazing and that it is so much healthier than Gatorade. However, I’m kind of suspicious of how the taste could be made with the ingredients they use to make the drink,” said sophomore David Steremberg.

Prime is available to buy at Walmart, Target, Kroger, CVS, GNC, Ralph’s and The Vitamin Shoppe.
