On Monday Oct. 10 science teacher Ms. Cateriano invited Argentine soccer analyst Pablo Mariño to come and talk to students of her Raider Seminar class called Soccer Locker Room.
Mariño works for beIN Sports’ Spanish Network covering World Cup qualifiers and league games from around the world and regularly appears on shows such as “The Locker Room”. He talked to the students about how he first became a sports journalist before eventually making his way up to on camera work. In explaining his journey, Mariño emphasized how it is much more difficult to stay at the top than to get to it, considering how many others are vying for his spot.
The students then asked Mariño his opinion on a variety of topics. Some of the questions asked were “Messi or Ronaldo?,” “What is your dream starting 11?,” “Who do you think will win the English Premier League this season?,”“What do you think are the best five leagues in Europe?,” and “Who do you think will win the 2018 World Cup?”
“I think the students really enjoyed his visit. As matter of fact, a few of the students thanked me for bringing him to our class. The students took ownership of the class by making sure he felt appreciated and welcomed at Gulliver,” said Cateriano.
You can watch Mariño in action on “The Locker Room” ever day on beIN Sports’ Spanish network.
