On Mar. 14, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team took a tough loss against the Canterbury Cougars in an anticipated matchup between two top teams in the state. The Raiders
ranked 16 in the state and 26 in the nation, came into this game with a two-game win streak and looked to continue their hot streak.
The team started off strong offensively with two quick goals from sophomore Lucas Albert and senior Sebastian Schnur. Over the past two games, the offense has scored a combined 31 goals. The defense was also clicking, putting up a clean sheet and ending the first quarter up 2-0.
Going into the second quarter with the momentum on the Raider’s side, adversity immediately struck with the Cougars tying the game with two goals within a minute and a half. From that point on there were multiple lead changes, but two consecutive goals from senior Hoban Noyes made the score 5-5 with less than 10 seconds left. What looked like a tie game going into halftime turned into a disaster for the team, with the Cougars scoring a buzzer-beater from deep.
Although a tough blow, the Raiders were not shaken by it and believed they had what it took to come back.

“You can find success in one another; look to each other, rely on each other. Great first half ahead. Offense, let’s put points on the board, their [shots] are going to drop, and defense keeps doing your thing,” Head Coach Connor Kelly said during his halftime speech.
The third quarter was similar to the last, with both teams trading goals and battling to get in the lead. Going into the fourth quarter the Raiders still trailed 8-7. Midway through the 4th, Sophomore Lucas Albert scored his third goal of the evening tying the game up once again, but the Cougars in the end pulled away and built a lead that was to much for the Raiders.
