Anna Rojas, a Conservation and Research specialist at Deering Estate leads and organizes projects to help the environment. Along with her team, Rojas is working to preserve the native flora of Miami.
“Deering Estate is part of CERP (Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan) and it is incredibly important because we serve as a model ecosystem that is open to the public, so people can see restoration actively happening here at Deering…” Rojas said.
Aside from working on preserving floral species, the team is also working on a rehydration project.
The Deering Estate welcomes visitors daily to explore the estate and take tours to see the nature preservation.
