Special Feature | Athletes Off Campus

As we cheer on school athletic teams year round, the students who train and compete in sports not available on campus often fly under the radar. We interviewed four students — freshman Micaela Donoso, junior Leo Suess, senior Maddie Bramson, and senior Maya Ponomarenko — about their stories of how they discovered passions for gymnastics, go-kart racing, rowing, and horseback riding. We also discuss how these less common sports contribute to their identities and abilities as athletes.

Freshman Micaela Donoso: Returning to the Beam
Junior Leo Seuss: For the Thrill of the Race
Senior Maddie Bramson: Finding Power in the Paddle
Senior Maya Ponomarenko, Horseback Riding Champion: Discipline and Dedication
